Taman Desa Permai Indah is a neighbourhood comprising several apartment residences as well as commercial shop lots in Sungai Dua, Penang. The neighbourhood appears to have been around for quite a number of years and is rather densely populated.

Most of the apartment residences are high-rise and high-density, with the shop lots being mostly occupied by a variety of different businesses. There are about 2 apartments which are as high as 14 storeys while there is also 1 low-rise apartment at only 5 storeys in height.

Catering to the lower to medium income group, the apartments at Taman Desa Permai Indah are not ultra-luxurious, but aim to provide comfortable dwellings for the mostly working population. Hence, not many facilities other than the basic parking lot or bays are provided.

Amenities within Taman Desa Permai Indah are aplenty, with the commercial blocks housing eateries, restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies, clinics and banks. There is also a Tesco Extra hypermarket just beyond the neighbourhood. The popular Queensbay Mall is also just a short drive away. Schools in the vicinities include SRJK (C) Keng Hoe, SMK Bukit Jambul, SMJK Phor Tay, the SRJK (C) Shih Chung branch, and SMK Sungai Nibong.

Taman Desa Permai Indah enjoys ease of accessibility with its proximity to Jalan Sungai Dua and Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah. The Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway is also within easy reach. The first Penang bridge is a little over 5 minutes’ drive away while Georgetown is about 15 minutes from the neighbourhood.
