Westward of the aforementioned road will also lead to Jalan Permatang Batu, where it will reach a roundabout in Bukit Tengah, where Jalan Baru and Jalan Permatang Pauh also meet. Jalan Baru can then link to the town of Seberang Perai, as well as enable access to the North-South Expressway (NSE) and the first Penang bridge.
