Putrajaya is a federal territory and administrative capital of Malaysia. It is an “intelligent garden city” famous for its stunning islamic architecture, green pockets, and scenic bridges.

Putrajaya was named after the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. The word putra means ‘son’ while jaya means ‘success’. This translates to successful men or people. In 1999, the government office moved here from Kuala Lumpur due to congestion in the city centre. The area was previously filled with oil palm and rubber estates. Now it has transformed into a beautifully landscaped city with an intricate touch.

Government residents make up the majority of the population here. Hence, most of the residents are of the Malay ethnicity. There are many homes here with massive build-ups and impressive designs, contributing to their high prices.

Experts say that the new Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Putrajaya line will benefit property prices in surrounding areas. This will help nearby developments as well. There are not many new property developments here since there are several government buildings situated in this area. Moreover, it is already a well-planned township. People who are looking for homes near this area will have to look at Cyberjaya, the neighbouring city.

Known for its gorgeous buildings, people who visit Putrajaya would frequent spots like Perdana Putra, Putra Mosque, Palace of Justice, Moroccan Pavilion and the Iron Mosque. The architectural wonder of these buildings will be sure to keep you and your camera mesmerised for a long time. For a better view of them, you can ride a hot air balloon at Skyrides Festivals Park. It’s an exciting way to witness the beauty of Putrajaya’s skyline from the sky.
